We were tasked with providing Wi-Fi coverage to the whole hotel, where they had previously only been able to supply Ethernet cabled connections for each guest. As is frequently the case, cost was an important consideration in the project – we couldn’t run new cables through ceilings and behind walls to place large wireless hubs in communal areas. We decided to use the existing cabling and place small, low cost, unobtrusive wireless access points inside a number of the guest rooms.

We placed a total of 7 access points to cover the 15 rooms in the hotel, configured with non-overlapping radio channels to provide a fault-tolerant blanket mesh of Wi-Fi coverage to the whole hotel. This solution has been working well since May 2013 and the guests have been delighted with the speed and strength of their Internet connections.
